Job Role:
SQL DBA:
• Good in SQL Server RDBMS architecture concepts
• Usage of System catalogs on Query Analyzer
• Space management including Filegroups
• Managing Transaction log files
• User management
• Backup and recovery methods using Enterprise Manager and Query Analyser.
• Logical backup and recovery using export/import from one instance to another.
• SQL network configuration ( using Server / Client Network utilities)
• Database performance tuning.
• Trouble shooting database issues
• Basic SQL and T/SQL knowledge
• Working knowledge of Windows (Windows 2000, Windows 2003)
• Working Knowledge of SQL Server Cluster.
Oracle DBA:
1. Basic SQL and PL/SQL knowledge
2. Excellent in Oracle RDBMS architecture concepts
3. Usage of data dictionary views
4. Expert in database administration (undo, redo, space, memory management)
5. Expert in install, upgrade and patching
6. Expert in database performance tuning
7. Expert in troubleshooting issues
8. Advanced Backup and recovery using RMAN
9. Preparing and reviewing complex change plans
10.Expert in database performance tuning
11.Good knowledge of Unix and shell scripting
12.Expertise in administering RAC/ASM OR Dataguard
13.Handling database Corruption issues
14.Implementing Best practices
15.Performing technical deep dives
